Gabrielle Tull Spore
Gabrielle A. Tull is an assistant professor of dance and program coordinator for dance education at Winthrop University. She is a 2020 MFA dance graduate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. As a previous high school dance director and curriculum curator, she received a Masters in Education in Divergent Learning at Columbia College, SC. Artistically, she has performed and collaborated with professional companies and artists including BJ Sullivan, Janet Lilly, Brian Sanders, City Modern Ensemble, The Power Company, Argentine Tango Troupe, and Terrance Henderson Dance Inc. Her recent scholarship in the Afro Diaspora and Afro Cuban foundations in Jazz technique and performance was awarded the Artist Express Grant, funded by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. Additionally, she was a lead presenter for the 2021 National Association of African American Studies international virtual conference, and the 2022 Collegium for African Diaspora Dance Conference at Duke University. Additionally in 2022, Gabrielle was a lead presenter at the American College Dance Association southeastern regional conference, the National Dance Education Organization national conference, and SC Dance Association state conference.
