Ballet of York County, a 501.c3 nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, was formed in 2020 after the School of Ballet and York County Ballet were forced to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thanks to the generous donations of our donors and Corporate Sponsors, Ballet of York County is able to continue a tradition of artistic excellence in classical ballet performance and community arts education that began in 1978. During our 2023-24 season, BYC was able to perform free Title I School performances of The Nutcracker and our spring production of Beauty and the Beast. We were also able to hold our first ever week-long Title I School Summer Camp. This camp was completely free of cost to local Title I students and made possible through funds received through a Masonite We Help People Walk Through Walls Community Grant. This season will once again feature our annual production of The Nutcracker and an original spring production. The Nutcracker, performed at Winthrop University, has been a tradition in York County for over 45 years.

Sponsorships enable us to provide opportunities for our community to foster a connection to the arts, through educational dance instruction, as well as live arts performances. Your support enables us to enrich and enhance the lives of the citizens of York County through valuable, needed engagement with the arts. We firmly believe that community caring is an integral element of arts education. Even with rising costs, we are determined to make performing arts accessible and affordable for our community.
