Peter Base
Peter began dance training in Greenville South Carolina at Greenville Ballet, under the tutelage of Andrew and Merry Kuharsky. He continued to study through high school, adding training at the Fine Arts Center of Greenville. Peter has studied at the Orlando Ballet School, and with Nashville Ballet as a trainee. He has danced professionally for seven seasons in Greenville with Carolina Ballet Theatre, under the Artistic Direction of Hernan Justo, and for four seasons in Rochester New York with Rochester City Ballet. He has regularly performed as a guest in schools up and down the east coast, the Midwest, and was privileged to be invited in 2013 and 2015 to perform with the Yoko Kasai Ballet Studio in Fujinomiya, Japan.
Favorite roles include the Bluebird Pas de Deux from "Sleeping Beauty", the men’s regiment in Balanchine's "Stars & Stripes", and Dwight Rhoden's "Beatlejuice". Peter is delighted to be entering into his second year of affiliate teaching and performing with Ballet of York County.
