As a principal dancer at York County Ballet Company, Mrs. Thompkins was known not only for her beautiful ballet technique but her artistry as well.

Mrs. Thompkins grew up in Rock Hill and studied at the School of Ballet and York County Ballet from the time she was a little girl. She danced roles from a clown in the Nutcracker to the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Aurora in Sleeping Beauty and numerous other principal roles. While with YCB she also performed at Piccolo Spoleto in Charleston, SC. She attended the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities Summer Intensive and the ST-Arts summer program at Winthrop University.

Mrs. Thompkins graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and a minor in dance. During her summers attending USC, she worked at the South Carolina Summer Dance Conservatory. Since graduating from USC she has been teaching Pilates, Barre and Stretch classes at local studios.

Mrs. Thompkins and her family reside in Rock Hill, SC.

We are delighted that Mrs. Thompkins is joining us to continue the tradition of classical ballet education and performance in York County.
